An electric outboard motor, an expresso machine and Maria Benktzon receive the DesignEuropa awards 2023

The DesignEuropa awards were presented at a ceremony in Berlin on September 5th. They are granted by the European Union Intellectual Property Office with the aim of drawing attention to excellent industrial designs and the importance of Registered Community Designs.

In the SME category, the Slovenian company Remigo received the prize for a beautiful and quiet electric outboard motor.

In the industry category, an automatic espresso machine from the Italian company SMEG received the prize.

Swedish designer Maria Benktzon received the Lifetime Achievement Award. One of her best-known designs is an ergonomic bread knife and other utensils for rheumatic patients and other disabled people.
