Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) – new and renewed cooperation

At the end of June this year changes took effect in relation to the expedited processing of patent applications, i.e. Patent Prosecution Highway - PPH.

Firstly, the collaboration between the Icelandic Intellectual Property Office (ISIPO) and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) was renewed from 1 July for the next five years, i.e. until June 30, 2029. No substantive changes to the contract with CNIPA were made.

Secondly, Brazil, through the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI-BR) will join the Global Patent Prosecution Highway (GPPH) cooperation as of 6 July 2024.

The ISIPO's templates will be updated to reflect these changes.
