The General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization was held in Geneva, Switzerland last week. Representatives of the Icelandic Intellectual Property Office took part in the work of the assembly as usual. The assembly discussed important issues of intellectual property rights, i.a. changes to the rules of the Madrid Convention on trademarks and the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), to which Iceland is a party, and a report on WIPO's assistance in building intellectual property rights infrastructure in Ukraine.
