ISIPO nominated for SKݑs ICT award for public digital services

Hugverkastofan is nominated for SKÝ's ICT award in the public digital service category, along with island.is and a new national planning portal. The award will be presented by the President of Iceland at the IT fair UTmessan on Friday, February 2.
The public digital services category is intended for solutions used by public institutions that excel and simplify people's daily lives. Websites, apps, and electronic services of any kind fall under this category.
The ISIPO has set an ambitious strategy for digital transformation. One of its key aspects relates to using web solutions to increase self-service, improve service, and reduce the manual work of staff. The Office's website, which was created in collaboration with Vettvangur, is the result of a multifaceted co-creation with staff and key customers. In all designs, the main focus was on shortening the customer's paths to information and service channels, and customer self-service is in the foreground. The website has attracted the attention of sister institutions in other countries, especially for being very service-oriented.
The website offers access to powerful search engines, which make it easy for users to quickly find intellectual property rights registered in Iceland, as well as application portals for trademarks, designs, and patents. Users can now send more almost 30 different types of applications and requests digitally through the website.
Recently, registration certificates and other data from the ISIPO were also made available in a digital mailbox on island.is. A new examination system for trademarks was also recently put into use in-house, which simplifies the investigation of applications for trademark registration and thus saves time and speeds up the processing of applications. There are many projects ahead, including my pages, electronic payments, deadline requests, and a digital intellectual property Gazette, as well as further development of existing solutions.
