The ISIPO Top Improver of the Year

The Icelandic Intellectual Property Office (ISIPO), was recognized as the "Top Improver of the Year" in the Institute of the Year survey for 2023. This survey is a collaborative effort by Sameyki, the State's Wage and Human Resources Administration, and the Human Resources and Working Environment Division of the City of Reykjavík. It highlights public institutions that have made the most significant improvements in their employees' work environment.
Borghildur Erlingsdóttir, the General Director of ISIPO, accepted the award during a formal ceremony at the Hilton Reykjavík Nordica.
"We are immensely proud and thankful to have been named the 'Top Improver of the Year' in the Institute of the Year survey for 2023. This recognition is a testament to the strong work ethic and unity that define ISIPO and the significant progress we have achieved in recent months. The well-being of our staff is of utmost importance to us. By focusing on creating a positive workplace, we aim to boost productivity and success for our entire organization. Among other initiatives, we embarked on internal strategic planning last year, which has already led to advancements in our internal operations and increased job satisfaction. Additionally, we relocated to a new, modern facility last summer, where all employees work together in a single, open space. This award confirms that we are on the right path and serves as a motivation for us to relentlessly ensure that ISIPO is an excellent place to work."
Borghildur Erlingsdóttir, General Director of ISIPO
The Institute of the Year survey offers insights into the work environment and conditions for staff in the public sector. Its goal is to acknowledge and reward workplaces that achieve exceptional results in human resource management. Furthermore, the survey assists managers in focusing on improvements in management and work environment, providing accountability for the benefit of employees, clients, customers, and other stakeholders. Participants are queried about nine work-related aspects, including management, morale, wages, working conditions, work flexibility, independence at work, organizational image, satisfaction and pride, and equality.
The top public institutions of 2023 are: Fjölbrautarskóli Suðurnesja, the National Register of Iceland, and the Secondary School in Vestmannaeyjar. ISIPO ranks 10th among organizations with 5-39 employees in this year's survey.
