An advertisement on classification of goods and services

An advertisement on the classification of goods and services entered into force on January 1, 2023. The advertisement is no. 1550/2022 and is published here on the webpage of the Icelandic government’s Gazette Stjornartidindi.

The main changes are that classification can now, in addition to complying with the NICE classification system, be based on the EUIPO (HDB) classification system, which is based on NICE. HDB is accessible here.

There were two changes in class headings, in classes 36 and 45:
36: Real estate affairs becomes real estate services.
45: New title: Legal services; security services for the physical protection of tangible property and individuals; dating services, online social networking services; funerary services; babysitting.ers to meet the needs of individuals.
