Launch of "My Pages" and electronic card payments

14. October 2024
The Icelandic Intellectual Property Office (ISPO) continues to make significant strides in its digital transformation journey and has now launched "Mínar síður" (My Pages) on hugverk.is. Through this new service, ISIPO's customers can track the status of their cases currently being processed by the office and submit documents electronically directly to active cases. Additionally, users can access an overview of their intellectual property rights registered with the office, monitor rights due for renewal, and save search results.
The ISIPO has also introduced the first phase of electronic card payments. It is now possible to pay for new trademark applications and renewals of registered trademarks using the ARK card payment solution, developed by the Icelandic Government Financial Management Agency in collaboration with Digital Iceland. Over the coming months, electronic card payment options will be expanded to include all applications and services requiring payment at the ISIPO.
"My Pages" have been designed based on search engines developed for ISIPO's website, with login access managed via the island.is authentication system. Most applications for intellectual property rights submitted to the ISIPO come from specialized agents, whose needs often differ significantly from those of general users who may submit applications only once a year or less frequently. During the development of "My Pages" the aim was to accommodate the varying needs of these different user groups. Workshops were conducted with users as part of the design process. Now, individuals and corporate representatives can log in directly via the ISIPO website. In cases where others, such as employees acting on behalf of their employers, require access, specific authorizations can be created through island.is.
"My Pages" will continue to be developed in close dialogue with customers over the coming months. Plans include providing access to case documents and various self-service solutions, such as extensions of deadlines, electronic extracts from registers, and assignment of rights.
